How to Measure Your Head
Getting the right measurement is the key to a comfortable hat. You will need a flexible measuring tape or a piece of string.
-
Position the Tape: Place the measuring tape around your head, approximately 1cm (1/2 inch) above your ears and across the middle of your forehead (where a hat would normally sit).
-
Check the Tension: Hold the tape firmly, but do not pull it too tight. You want the hat to be snug but comfortable.
-
Read the Result: Note the measurement in centimeters or inches and compare it to the chart above.
-
Using String: If you don't have a tape measure, use a piece of string, mark the point where it meets, and then measure the string against a ruler.
Pro-Tips for the Perfect Fit
-
Between Sizes? If you fall between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size. Many hats come with internal drawstrings or can be padded slightly for a better fit.
-
One Size Fits All (OSFA): These hats typically feature an adjustable strap (snapback, buckle, or velcro) and fit most head sizes from Small to XL.
-
Hair Matters: If you have very thick or voluminous hair, consider adding 1cm to your measurement for a more comfortable fit.
-
Beanie Fit: Beanies are usually stretch-to-fit. If you prefer a "slouchy" look, go for a larger size; for a "fisherman" look, stick to your measured size.
